Our Top Castle Wedding Venues in Ireland

Ashford Castle

Ashford Castle is one of the most outstanding wedding venues and castles in Ireland. Despite being over 800 years old, Ashford Castle has been beautifully preserved. Located in Cong in the heart of Mayo, the castle is a fairytale wedding venue. As they say on their website, the castle is suited to both small and large celebrations. On site accommodation can cater for up to 160 guests. However, the castle has a number of smaller rooms such as the Connaught and Inglenook which can cater for a more intimate party. The bridal suite is also named after President Reagan. It is said that the president stayed in the venue back in 1984. One of Ireland’s most famous golfers, Rory McIlroy also got married at Ashford Castle.

Waterford Castle

Waterford Castle is quite a popular venue for elopement weddings in Ireland. One of the main reasons for this is that it does a fantastic job at facilitating smaller weddings. The castle is a completely exclusive wedding venue, located on its own 310 acre Island. What I really like is how separate the venue is from everything else. In addition, a ferry brings guests from the island to the mainland. Therefore making it really easy for guests to move between the two. It’s the perfect venue to hold your day 2 celebrations if available. There are a large number of activities available to guests onsite. They have everything from clay pigeon shooting, tennis, plenty of scenic walks and a golf course. There truly is no other venue in Ireland like Waterford Castle. You can download their 2021 wedding brochure here.

Luttrellstown Castle

Luttrellstown Castle is another one of our favorite castle wedding venues in Ireland. This exclusive wedding venue is located on a 560 acre estate approximately 15-20 minutes from Dublin airport. Therefore making it the perfect venue if you have guests flying into Dublin. The venue is always remembered for one of Ireland’s most famous celebrity weddings, David and Victoria Beckham. While this wedding is now over 20 years ago it doesn’t make this luxurious Irish Castle any less appealing. The castle is now over 600 years old but it hasn’t lost any of its original charm. Above all else Luttrellstown

Markree Castle

Markree Castle is set in the stunning county of Sligo along the Wild Atlantic Way. This exclusive gothic-style castle is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the west of Ireland. When filming at Markree our favorite part of the day is the drinks reception. Held in the breathtaking Grand Hall, it is one of our favorite rooms in the castle. Finally the castle boasts stunning gardens allowing for the perfect wedding photos. You can even opt to hold your ceremony outdoors (weather permitting).
